Cody's Room

We converted our guest room into the nursery. We had a chair rail put in and Keith painted it. My fabulous mom came and painted Cody's room and it turned out awesome! Once the room was painted we were able to pick up the furniture. The bedding looks great with the furniture and the paint matches perfect.

After my two showers, I have come to 2 conclusions....#1 - our friends know us very well....almost all of the clothes Cody got are either Camo or A&M....#2 - Cody should not have the problem of 'nothing to wear', at least for the first year....just look at his closet!

Our day before Easter

To start off....I normally don't leave my cell phone in the truck overnight, but my wall charger doesn't work, so I left it in the truck to charge overnight. I also don't leave my truck unlocked, but Keith was unloading stuff last night and I forgot to tell him to make sure it was locked. Keith ALWAYS closes the garage door and locks the door from the house to the garage before bed.
So this morning I woke up and went out to my truck to get my phone. I unlocked the door and noticed that the garage door was open. I looked to see if anything was missing (tools, 4wheeler, motorcycle, TV, stereo..) and didn't see anything missing. I went to my truck and opened the door....NO CELL PHONE or iPod docking station. I came in, told him and called the cops. They came and took a report and we found out they hit our neighbor 2 houses down.

I knew that I wouldn't see the things again and knew the chances of catching the 'perps'. Well, Keith and I left for a little while and our neighbor called us around 1:30pm (he's a cop) and said he had just chased down the two punks at gunpoint and cuffed them. The sheriffs came and one of the punks had my phone on him (YEAH!!!). Come to find out, they hit more than 15 houses in the neighborhood and we all got 95% of our stuff back. I went up to one of the kids while he was on the ground and it was all I could do to not kick him & bash his face in. I had to stop my self and calm down and tell myself "don't get the baby worked up"

It was such a rollercoaster of day, all I want to do is just lay down and rest. The good news is that we are all pressing charges and with everything, they are going to be charged with felonys and serious jail time.

The Baby

We found out I was pregnant on September 18, 2008, just days after Hurricane Ike. We had no power and I just had a 'feeling'. I went to Walgreens, got the test, and took it at home in the dark. 3 minutes later..... "Pregnant" showed up on the stick. We weren't trying, but we were definatley excited.


I scheduled an appointment with the OBGYN for confrimation. We told my parents and Keith's grandpa on October 4th when we introduced them to Sarge (we had to explain why we got a puppy so quick after putting Chopper to sleep). They were all excited.


We had to wait until December 22nd to find out if it was a boy or a girl. Luckily, the little bean cooperated and we got a money shot.

We are having a BOY!!! Of course Keith is over the moon, but so am I. We decided pretty quickly on his first name .... Cody....but we're still working on the middle name. We had 3 seperate 4D ultrasounds to try and get a good picture of Cody, but he just didn't want to cooperate. Oh well....we'll get to meet him soon enough. He's due on May 18th.

I've been lucky and had an easy pregnancy so far. Everything has been textbook, I just hope it stays that way :-)

Our Introduction

So here I am, jumping on the band wagon and starting a family blog. A little about us....Keith & I met in 2000. He was going to Texas A&M and I was at Sam Houston. We dated for 3 years and he proposed on Christmas Eve of 2003. We got married on March 5, 2005 at Chapelwood UMC, where I grew up. We bought a house in Magnolia and fell in love with our neighborhood. In April I got Keith a puppy. A boxer to be exact, and he named him 'KTex's Lone Star Chopper'...or Chopper for short. He was our baby.

Well, during our 16 days without power after Hurricane Ike, Keith & I found out we were going to be parents. We also had to take Chopper to A&M because he was no able to stand up. After spending a week at A&M he wasn't getting better, in fact worse, we made the decision to put him to sleep. It was heartbreaking because he was only 3 1/2 years old.

Since we knew we were expecting a baby, we decided to get a puppy quickly so we could have it trained by the time the baby came. We brought Sarge (KTex's Sergeant at Arms) home on October 4, 2008. He was 6 weeks old. He's been a great puppy and it's been so much fun watching him grow up. I can't wait to see how he interacts with the baby.
