Sarge loves Cody

So I put Cody in his swing this morning and Sarge just had to check it out. He's very curious about Cody and investigates every little noise that Cody makes. So Cody made a little squeak and Sarge went to investigate.

Such a busy day!!

So today was pretty busy around our house, especially for a 5 day old little boy. First off, he slept like a champ. He went down at 10:00pm and I woke him up at 1:30am & 4:30am to eat. We woke up for the day at 8am and started getting ready. We had some friends stop by to meet Cody around 12:30 and then the photographer showed up at 2pm to do Cody's newborn pics. She was AWESOME! Cody under the lights

So the little guy had to spend the last 24 hrs under the bililights because he was starting to get jaundice. It had to do with a blood compatability issue between my blood type and his blood type. His levels weren't really high, but they were climbing, so the pediatrician put him under the lights to stop them from getting higher. He was a trooper under there. Here is a picture of him under the lights with his super hero goggles on.

Cody has arrived!

Cody Allan Texter arrived at 10:02am on May 11, 2009. He weighed 6lbs 12oz and is 19.5 inches long. He fed for almost 1 hr on his first feeding and is doing just great!

Keith is just a proud PaPa and Cody looks like a baby doll in his arms. We will be in the hospital until at least Wednesday. Then we get to take the little guy home to meet Sarge.

It's a BIG day tomorrow!

So tomorrow morning at 10am, I'm going in for a c-section. We will finally get to meet little Cody after a long wait. Wish us luck and be sure to check back for updates.

Cody's Room

We converted our guest room into the nursery. We had a chair rail put in and Keith painted it. My fabulous mom came and painted Cody's room and it turned out awesome! Once the room was painted we were able to pick up the furniture. The bedding looks great with the furniture and the paint matches perfect.

After my two showers, I have come to 2 conclusions....#1 - our friends know us very well....almost all of the clothes Cody got are either Camo or A&M....#2 - Cody should not have the problem of 'nothing to wear', at least for the first year....just look at his closet!

Our day before Easter

To start off....I normally don't leave my cell phone in the truck overnight, but my wall charger doesn't work, so I left it in the truck to charge overnight. I also don't leave my truck unlocked, but Keith was unloading stuff last night and I forgot to tell him to make sure it was locked. Keith ALWAYS closes the garage door and locks the door from the house to the garage before bed.
So this morning I woke up and went out to my truck to get my phone. I unlocked the door and noticed that the garage door was open. I looked to see if anything was missing (tools, 4wheeler, motorcycle, TV, stereo..) and didn't see anything missing. I went to my truck and opened the door....NO CELL PHONE or iPod docking station. I came in, told him and called the cops. They came and took a report and we found out they hit our neighbor 2 houses down.

I knew that I wouldn't see the things again and knew the chances of catching the 'perps'. Well, Keith and I left for a little while and our neighbor called us around 1:30pm (he's a cop) and said he had just chased down the two punks at gunpoint and cuffed them. The sheriffs came and one of the punks had my phone on him (YEAH!!!). Come to find out, they hit more than 15 houses in the neighborhood and we all got 95% of our stuff back. I went up to one of the kids while he was on the ground and it was all I could do to not kick him & bash his face in. I had to stop my self and calm down and tell myself "don't get the baby worked up"

It was such a rollercoaster of day, all I want to do is just lay down and rest. The good news is that we are all pressing charges and with everything, they are going to be charged with felonys and serious jail time.
