Port Aransas!!

We took a long weekend and went to Port Aransas to meet up with our friends, The Eyes. Sara, Andy, Sydney, & Kelli met us at a house we rented and we enjoyed a relaxing weekend at the beach. The first day, the guys went fishing and me & Sara took the kiddos to the beach. Cody slept through most of it, but did put his toes in the water and loved it. On Saturday, we all went to the pier and took Sydney fishing. Once again, Cody slept through it :-) That night we went and played Put-Put golf. We pushed Cody in the stroller the whole 18 holes & he did GREAT! He didn't sleep though this one, but had a good time watching everything. Here are a couple of pictures.

Cody's First Astros Game

Keith called yesterday afternoon and got tickets to the Astros game. So, I rushed home after work and picked up Cody from the sitter's house. Of course, his two baseball outfits are TOO SMALL!!! But, I made one of them work and put his jeans on and off we went. He fell asleep in the car on the way down there, but woke up just in time to pull in the parking lot. When we got to our seats (on the 2nd row) he was watching everything around him. He did great. The loud noises didn't scare him at all. He had a bottle and then fell asleep in my arms.

Back at home!

So I took Friday off from work and met the girls at the Frio River. It was so much fun, as usual. We stayed in a cabin on the river this year, and that is the way to go. Since the water was so low and the river was not floatable, we took our chairs to the river and just sat in the water. It was nice and relaxing.

Saturday night, we went to The House Pasture to see Owen Temple play. If you've never heard him play, I suggest catching a show. He was really good and we got to talk to him for a while after he was finished playing.

I had a great time meeting some new people and can't wait to go again next year. On the other hand, it was so good to get home and see Cody & Keith. I missed them like crazy and his smile when he saw me just melted my heart.

Busy Week....

So this week has started off being really busy. While work is pretty slow (my boss is in Argentina for 3 weeks), it everything else that is keeping me moving. I'm leaving to go on my annual girls trip to the Frio River on Friday (lets hope there is some water to at least sit in). I've had mixed emotions about going. I love going with the girls. We have a blast and just let go. On the other hand, I'm leaving my little guy for 2 1/2 days. He's almost 3 months old now and it will be good for him to have some daddy bonding time, but I'm still going to miss him like crazy. Keith is going to keep him by himself on Friday night and then my mom is coming to help out on Saturday and Sunday.

The other thing that's kept me busy the last couple of days....my application for the ATCP (Alternative Teaching Certification Program). I'm finally diving in and getting my teaching certificate. After having Cody and having to leave him and go to work, I've decided that I want more time with him. Since I can't be a SAHM right now, this is the next best thing. I will at least have the summers off with him. I am going to take classes this fall and hopefully do my internship in the spring.

On another note.....Facebook is addicting! Over the last couple of months, I have connected with some old friends....some of my first friends from elementary/jr. high. There were about 25 of us who went to school together from kindergarten to 8th grade. Now, about 12 of us have found each other on FB. I'm thinking that we should put together a little mini-reunion with family & kiddos. The only limitation....no pictures from school...those were some BAD HAIR years! It's hard to believe that it's been over 15 years!!!

My happy little guy

All weekend Keith and I have been saying that we are just the luckiest parents. Cody is the happiest baby. He's always smiling and laughing. Keith made a comment yesterday that he's never known a baby that smiles as much as our little guy. Here's one smile:

We've starting putting him in his Bumbo chair (which he loves) and in his excersaucer:

He wakes up in the morning with smiles and it makes my day. I love having such a great little guy and count our blessings everyday.

Cody's 1st July 4th!

We met Keith's sister & family and grandpa at Luby's in Tomball to eat and watch fireworks. I put Cody in his 4th of July outfit that he got from our friend Kelly & when we got to Luby's, his cousin Trent (who is 4 months older) was wearing the same outfit....very cute! So Cody did great with the fireworks, no fussing and he even turned his head to watch some of them.
